The trial starts from chikballapur district in karnataka. The trek is overall easy but it goes continuously uphill with high steeps at some points.You’ll need 2 to 3 hours to get there. There is no water supply so you should be carrying your own water bottles. If you ask about the best time to visit, then this place receives pleasant temperatures throughout the year. The summer afternoon can be hot so if planning in summer then start your trek early in the morning or in the evening. In monsoon it can be muddy but a memorable experience. You can visit here from 6am to 6pm and the weekends are really busy. You will find traffic en-route to the forest department. Entry fees are 20 per person and parking for bikes is 30 rupees and 125 for cars.

HOW TO REACH

It is 60 km from Bangalore and just a one hour drive away.

BY ROAD you can take bangalore hyderabad road then after crossing devanahalli take left to nandi cross. Then head straight towards karahalli cross and take left then continue till the first right and you will be sliding into the nandi slopes. Then only let cars till mayura hotel, you have to park before that whereas bikes can go further.

BY TRAIN chikkaballapur is the closest railway station which is 9 km from the slopes of nandi. You can take a passenger train at 8:40 in the morning which is chikkaballapur passenger. Then take an auto which will charge rupees 100 per head. The return train is at 4 in the evening.
